Summary: The nursing students of the University of Cebu- Banilad campus has shown improper ways of disposing garbage and waste products. The problem of garbage disposal practices in the school campus is the lack of knowledge and awareness of most nursing students that makes it difficult and more time consuming for the maintenance personnel to segregate such trash. The research study we made was anchored on the Theory of Moral Development by Lawrence Kohlberg. The theory explains that moral reasoning is the basis of ethical behavior. It has 3 levels and each level is further explain the purpose of the study. According to Edelman and Mandel, solid waste may be defined as normally solid materials arising from human and animal activities and discarded as waste. Included in the review of literature are the local and national laws in accordance to the principle of solid waste management. E.g. Cebu City Ordinance No. 136 article 5 that deals on the provisions of trashcan and waste receptacles at home and in the office.
