Summary: The researchers had observed among themselves and from the people that they've met, that they do not speak English fluently. This study was proposed a training program that would help the sophomore nursing students to prepare themselves.
The study was based on Thorndike's Connectionism Theorym which was based on stimuli responses for the stimulus. There is a corresponding response and the connection stimulus and responses is called the SR Bond. These were supported by the theories of B.F Skinner, Jean Piaget, and J.B Watson.
Another theory that was based by the study was behaviorist learning theory where their desired effects were according to constructivist learning theory. This theory sought to improve on what behaviorist learning theory had established which focuses on the motivation and ability of humans to construct learning for their self. It has been said that constructivist believed that each individual has the ability to construct knowledge on their own base on their own ideas. This is based on the theory of Seymour Papert.
