Summary: Level IV student nurses are one step away from being nurses. Society expects them to be confident in performing any nursing procedures. However, confidence is cultivated quality.The very first step in climbing the ladder of confidence is firm conviction to one's own ability. People are afraid of accepting challenges and responsibilities because they doubt their capacity to perform well; they underestimate themselves and lose wonderful opportunities in life. People who doubt their abilities will never be able to do their tasks with confidence.This research study engages in the level of confidence of the BSN IV student nurses of the University of Cebu- Banilad in performing delivery room procedures. The objective is to establish a significant relationship in the number of cases handled, assisted and immediate newborn care done and the level of confidence in the performance of delivery room procedures.This has been done by utilizing a survey questionnaire and randomly distributed among level IV nursing students who were asked to fill-in their age, number of cases, and checked the corresponding level of confidence column that is consistent with their preference in the tool. After obtaining all the data, the Chi square method is employed to determine significant relationship between the number of cases and the level of confidence of the respondents. After analysis and interpretation of the data, the research team has conducted that there is a significant relationship in the number of cases and the level in the performance of nursing procedures among respondents in the clinical setting. Respondents who have greater number of cases were very confident compared to respondents with only a lesser number of cases. Since number of cases is tantamount to exposure to the actual area,therefore, the greater the exposure the higher the level of confidence.
