Students have been founally introduced to chemistry in junior high school. As such, Breaking Through General Chemistry 2 builds on this background. It presents an extensive coverage of core chemical concepts that lead students to a deeper understanding of the composition, structure, and properties of solids, liquids, and solutions, the quantitative principles of kinetics, and energetics of transformation of matter, and the fundamental concepts of acids and bases, and electrochemistry.
The activities are designed to engage students in sharpening their inquiry skills through discovery, investigation, analysis, and interpretation of data and information, rather than through memorization and accumulation of facts.
The chapters in the book are divided into lessons, which may be taken up within one or more class periods depending on the complexity of the topics and the readiness of the students.
