Summary: This study determined the employabilityof the Bachelor of Secondary Education of University of Cebu-Banilad from school year 2013.It included the profile of the respondents like gender, civil status, region of origin and present address and high educational qualification. It determined the reasons of graduates for taking the course, their employment status and find out how many graduates were able to land a job related to the degree obtained in college and the academic competencies learned in college that were utilized in the present job. A descriptive design was used utilizing the graduate tracer survey questionnaire- a standardized tool from the Commission on Higher Education. Data was obtained in University of Cebu-Banilad using purposive sampling. There were 102 BSED graduates for five years and only 30% or 38 students were included in the study. The statistical treatments applied were simple percentage and frequency to determine the responses of the respondents. The findings showed that majority of the respondents were female, single, came from Region VII and residing in Cebu City. The highest educational attainment obtained was college degree. The top three reasons for taking the course were affordable for the family, good grade sin high school and high grades in the course or subject areas related to the course.Majority of the BSED graduates have a regular or permanent employment status. The major reasons for unemployment were resign from the job, waiting for LET result and made advance or further study for the application on maritime related. The current job of the graduates was related to their profession.Majority of them landed in a teaching related job. Most of the graduates were employed within the country. Some of them worked in ESL and private high school. In terms of the frequency learned in college, most of them learned communication skills, human relation skills, information technology skills, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Bases on the findings of the study, the Bachelor of Secondary Education for academic year 2009 to 2013 were employable. This means that the curriculum they had in college answered the needs of their teaching profession. The academic competencies integrated in the degree program were applied in their respective job. However salaries of the graduates were very low. It only ranges from P5000 to P10000. This means that they have to find ways and means to increase their qualifications such as pursuing advance studies after graduation, increasing their LET examination average and attending seminars for professional growth in order to attract a high paying institution related to their profession.
