Summary: Sinulog festival is a widely known festival in Cebu City as well as in the Philippines where millions of people flock every third Sunday in Cebu City. This study determined the significance of Sinulog festival to the participants based on the responses of the participants who participated the Sinulog festival 2015. The study was conducted in three primary sites where Sinulog festival was always held these are: Basilica del Santo Niño, Fuente Osmeña Circle, and Colon Street. The study used the descriptive-correlation research method. There were 300 respondents who were randomly chosen. A researcher-made questionnaire was utilized and simple percentage, weighted mean, and chi-square test of relationship were the statistical treatment used to analyze the study. Findings revealed that the majority of the respondents belonged to the age bracket 18-23 years old, females, college level/graduates, and from Region 7. The participants perceived that the Sinulog Festival is about religious activities, competition of festival dances, floats, higantes, fireworks, and a grand Mardi- Gras of street dancing. Furthermore, they perceived the Sinulog festival as a nightly activity and an activity that helps the economic income of Cebu City. The respondents assessed that the significance of Sinulog festival helps preserves the Cebuano culture; provides a memorable travel experience;it enhances the creativity of the people;it serves as the pride of the country.and it provides business opportunities. There is no significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and on their perception towards Sinulog festival and its significance to the participants however, there is a significant relationship with regards to gender. Therefore, it is concluded that the respondents perceived that Sinulog festival is a religious activity. And is very significant to the participants because it preserves the culture of Cebuano.
