Summary: This study was conducted to determine the awareness on k to 12 basic education program among the parents of the kindergarten, elementary and first year high school pupils and students of the University of Cebu Main and Lapu Lapu and Mandaue campuses. In order to determine the awareness of parents on k to 12, the researchers sought to answer queries about the profile of the parent respondents in terms of their educational attainment, monthly family income, and their number of children. Moreover, the study also aimed to establish whether there is a significant relationship between the parents respondents' profile and their awareness on k to 12 basic education program. Furthermore, it also aimed to verify if the parent respondents have comprehensive knowledge on k to 12 or they have no knowledge about it at all. The researchers employed the descriptive- correlational design. The research findings revealed that most of the parent respondents were college graduates, a good number of them belonged to the upper seventy percent income group, which means their earnings are sufficient. Moreover, slightly half of the respondents only have 2 children. Since most of the respondents were from the urban areas, it is expected that they have lesser children. Furthermore, the results revealed that the parent respondents have sufficient knowledge about the K-12 basic education program. It was also established that there was a significant relationship between the respondents' profile and their awareness on K to 12 basic education program. It was therefore suggested that the school administrators should commit themselves in giving orientation sessions on K to 12 basic education program that gives emphasis on areas that were slightly less aware of. Likewise incorporate the K to 12 Basic Education Program as one of the agenda during PTA meetings and positively encourage parents to attend the orientation activities of the school.
