520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc Summary: The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of Senior nursing students of University of Cebu- Banilad Campus on COPAR and its activities, as basis for proposed intervention plan. This study was anchored on the theory of Jerome Brunner. Cognitive theories address the perceptual aspect of learning. Cognitive learning results in the development of perceptions and insights, also called gestalt, which brings about a change in thoughts, patterns and rfelated actions. Jerome Brunner in 1996, described cognitive learning as process of conceptualization and categorization. He contented that intellectual development includes awareness of one's own thinking, the ability to recognize and deal with several alternatives and sequences, and the ability to prioritize. Brunner also saw the benefit of discovery learning that bring about insights (Bradshaw & Lowenstein, 2007). The letter was noted by the research adviser and research facilitator and then submitted to the dean approval. Once permission was granted, the researchers explained to the respondents about the purpose of the study and direction on how to go about with the study. When the questionnaires were all answered, the data were tabulated, analyzed and interpreted. Based on the criteria for the level of knowledge on COPAR, Partially Knowledgeable gets bigger percentage with 128 respondents or 46.21% out of the total 277 respondents while he rest comprised the following percentages, Moderately Knowledgeable is 84 or 30.32%, Knowledgeable is 29 or 10.47%, no knowledge was 24 or 8.66% and Highly Knowledgeable which was 12 or 4.33% of the respondents. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers conclude that there were no significant relationship between the profile and their level of knowledge on COPAR and its activities. Based on the conclusions of the study, the following recommendations were drawn: Implement the proposed intervention plan which includes enhancement seminar and provision of handout materials cotaining the essentila information on COPAR and its activities. For future researchers to conduct an in-depth study on COPAR and its activities particularly the extent of its implementation in their adopted communities.
