520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc Summary: The incidence of dengue fever cases in the Philippines increase nearly 36,000 in the year, 2017, but lower than the same period last year, Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial said. Baricautro, for his part, stressed that with the alarming upsurge of dengue cases, there is a necessity to immediately address and prevent further increase of dengue cases in the province as dengue is through risk reduction. This study aims to explore the lived experiences of mothers who took care of their children who were inflicted with dengue fever in Barangay Dawis, Talisay City, Cebu, Philippines. A qualitative exploration of attitudes and beliefs using constructs from the health belief model can build up inside and out comprehension of the mind- blogging interchange of mental, financial and individual factors that give rise to differences in dengue- related health behaviors. The qualitative research design was utilized in this study to describe phenomenon. Urposive sampling technique was used to select target informants at Dawis, Talisay City, Cebu. Data were collected through face- to- face interviews. The findings will be the basis for the formulation of a proposed action plan. Results reveals that mothers had basic knowledge about dengue, they were aware of dengue symptoms, transmission and mosquito eradication strategy. Lack of financial capacity and some misconceptions about the disease influenced their preventive practices. Extensive knowledge of the prevention was evident based on the responses they provided, but there was no actual application of what they have learned.
