Its adequacy in addressing actual complaints of consumer who transact their needs online and provide and recommendations to reinforce law to strengthen the consumer protection online is vital. This paper highlights some illegal issues and related problems encountered by consumers with online shopping. Better enforcement of consumer rights and strong legal environment and vital for online shopping. This study uses both primary and secondary data. The primary data were obtained through survey and interview while secondary data were extracted from the database of Department of Trade and Industry. The convenient sampling technique was adopted for collecting data from respondents. It was found that there were existing and recurring problems in online shopping in the country and the bottleneck lies more on the cooperation by the consumers themselves. In this regard, the government needs to be proactive and some provisions of the law must be updated for reinforcement.
