Summary, etc Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted inescapable school closure, and numerous schools have settled on training utilizing internet learning stages. The study aimed to explore the experiences and challenges of level 1 nursing students in their online classes. Researchers used the qualitative study as an exploratory research method. It was conducted in one of the universities in Cebu City. There were seven informants in the study, and purposive sampling was gathered guided by the principle of data saturation. The informants were all interviewed via Google Meet and used an open-ended interview guide with audio records, which were transcribed and analyzed using Colizzi's method. There were three emerging themes are formed (1) Adversities of Online Modality with the following cluster themes (a) Online Learning Barriers, (b) Psychosocial Difficulties, and (c) Technological Barriers.(2) Adapting the process of Online Learning (a) Drive to Learn, (b) Handling Available Resources, and (c) Coping with the process of Online Learning. (3) Realization of Online Learning (a) Acquiring Online Skills, (b) Skills Advancement. Online classes leave significant challenges and effects on students' psychosocial status and help students adapt to the new modality yet not enough to give sufficient skills for the nursing students.
