Summary, etc Abstract: Chronic hypertension is one of the most common chronic diseases in the Philippines. It is treated with long-term pharmacological interventions, which aid in controlling and improving the condition. Yet, it has been that older adults-aged 65 years old and above are the most vulnerable to medication non-compliance. This study examined medication compliance among chronic hypertensive older adults in Barangay Hipodromo. This study utilized a quantitative, descriptive-correlational method to determine the medication compliance and evaluate the significant relationship between the respondents' profile and their medication compliance, acquired through a researcher-made questionnaire. The statistical treatments used were simple percentages, weighted mean, Cramer's V, P-value, and Chi-square test of independence. A total of 81 qualified respondents were randomly selected. Subsequently, most respondents were female older adults with an income below Php 20,000, high school graduates, diagnosed with hypertension for less than five years, and most had no comorbidities. The medication compliance among chronic hypertensive older adults in Barangay Hipodromo is good. Based on the finding of this study, no significant relationship exists between the respondents' profile in terms of gender, educational attainment, monthly income, the number of years diagnosed, and comorbidities on their medication compliance. In conclusion, most respondents had enough knowledge regarding their disease and were compliant with their medications; however, some respondents showed mon-compliance due to a lack of health teachings and financial support. Thus, an action plan must be implemented.
