Summary, etc Abstract: Over the last years, the number of people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in the Philippines has increased despite efforts made by the government on HIV prevention and treatment. Studies have shown that ample knowledge, positive, perception, and attitude are vital to helping decrease this growing epidemic. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the knowledge, perception, and attitude of non-medical college students towards HIV, which aided the researchers in understanding how much the students know about the infection, especially at their collegiate level. The study utilized the descriptive-correlational design. The researchers determined the significant relationship between the respondent's profiles with their knowledge, perception, and attitudes toward HIV, wherein its outcome determined the need to propose an action plan. An online survey was conducted through google forms and was sent to 351 students in the non-medical college departments of the University of Cebu-Banilad campus. The findings of the study indicated that the majority of the respondents are aged 21-23 and that the students have an alarming number of misconceptions regarding the modes of transmission and the prevention and treatment of HIV despite their higher level of education. Therefore, an action plan was proposed to help fill in the gaps in knowledge regarding the infection. The Chi-square test of independence showed no significant relationship between the respondent's profile and their knowledge on modes of transmission and the prevention and treatment of HIV. However, there is a significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and their perception and attitudes towards HIV. Future researchers should explore the factors that can affect students' knowledge, perception, and attitude toward HIV. The researchers recommend implementing a proposed action plan at all year levels among non-medical college students.
