Abstract: This study aimed to measure the level of vaccine-hesitancy and attitudes of mothers toward immunization. The findings of the study were the basis in assessing the extent of vaccine-hesitancy and attitudes of mothers toward child's immunization. The researchers utilized the descriptive correlational study design with a researcher-created questionnaire to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, marital status, educational attainment, household income, and parity; the vaccine-hesitancy and the attitudes of the mothers toward their child's immunization; and the relationship between the profile, vaccine-hesitancy and attitude of the mothers toward child's immunization. As the profile of the respondents, 53.8% of the respondents belong to age bracket 17-27 years old, 65.4% were single or in common law status who were mostly high school level or graduate that accumulated 61.5% among the total population that predominantly has PHP 10,957-21 household income that garnered 92.3% with 1-2 number of living children that has 69.2% among the total population. Most of the mothers strongly agreed with regards to the vaccine-hesitancy that leads them to different kinds of attitudes towards child's immunization like fearful of side effects, lack of time or too busy, etc. They study further revealed that there was no significant relationship between the respondent's profile, vaccine-hesitancy, and the attitudes except from the parity of the mothers. Thus, the proposed action plan must be implemented. |
