Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact, especially on clients diagnosed with various respiratory diseases. Moreover, one of the diseases that are emergent in our community is Tuberculosis(TB). As quarantine is being implemented, this may cause the patient's treatment to have defaulted. Furthermore, this study aims to assess if TB patients still comply with the TB-DOTS treatment and the challenges they may experience despite the ongoing pandemic. This study utilized a descriptive-correlational research design, A two-part research-made questionnaire was used to acquire the data, The part of the questionnaire were the respondents' demographic profile and level of compliance , accompanied by a Likert scale tool. The respondents of this study are the registered patients under the TB DOTS program of barangay Apas and Hipodromo in Cebu city. The statistical treatments' used for the data analysis are simple percentage, weighted mean, chi-square, and Cramer's V and P-value. The respondents showed a moderate level of compliance with the TB-DOTS treatment. The respondents also indicated that they highly understood the importance of taking the medication. Although it positively affects the respondents, this shall also be monitored to sustain their willingness to continue the treatment. The researchers will implement a proposed action plan to enhance TB awareness, information drive to strengthen adherence of TB patients, and disseminate results to other researchers, healthcare facilities, and healthcare team members. |
