"Facility management (FM) is a specialty that includes multiple disciplines to ensure that the built environment is operational, relax safe and efficient through integrating staff, place, process and technology. As an increasing number of multi-unit residential buildin have been built over recent decades, there has also been a corresponding increase in demand for facility management. Today's Facilit Managers need a wide and diverse set of skills, much more in line with management and business services than those who or dominated the industry building trade-oriented facilities. The hospitality industry is vast and very diverse. Any time people travel, stay a hotel, eat out, go to the movies, and engage in similar activities, they are patronizing establishments in the industry. The manageme of such establishments is very challenging, as managers need to be flexible enough to anticipate and meet a wide variety of needs. The must also handle tasks such as training employees, handling staff, setting standards, etc. Managers of operations in the hospitality indu try and future general managers gain a greater familiarity with the functional and managerial responsibilities of the facility manager ar thus enjoy an improved probability of property-wide success. If the general manager knows how to use and task his facility manage efficiently, the entire operation will be carried out more smoothly in an atmosphere of increased profit potential.<br/><br/>This book contains seven chapters.
