520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc Aquaponics is a sustainable and environmentally friendly system for food production that combines aquaculture and hydroponics to cultivate fish and crops without soil. This system fosters a symbiotic link between fish and plants by converting fish waste (ammonia) into nitrates necessary for plant growth. The plant bed acts as a bio-filter, purifying the water that returns to the fish enclosure, creating a continuous cycle. One unique advantage of an aquaponic system is its ability to conserve water more effectively than traditional irrigation systems. It is accomplished by recirculating water between the plant bed and fish habitat, minimizing water waste.
