520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc "Entrepreneurship was designed for senior high school (Grades 11 and 12) based on the Department of Education's (DepEd) K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum. This book can also be used by tertiary schools offering a degree or course in Entrepreneurship It introduces the students to the key concepts and underlying principles of entrepreneurship while understanding and developing the core competencies required of an entrepreneur. It also seeks to uncover the innate entrepreneurial abilities of the students and hone their skills and good judgment in finding opportunities amidst crises and turning them into profitable entrepreneurial ventures.

This reference material presents key entrepreneurial concepts that students can easily follow and possibly apply at home, in school, and practically, everywhere they go. Aided with the appropriate tools and techniques, students are ushered to explore possibilities outside the employed world-being entrepreneurs. This is in line with the curriculum's goal of "gearing up (the senior high and tertiary schools) for the future," where students get to choose a specialization based on their aptitude and interests. In addition, it aims to contribute to the realization of the K to 12 Program's outcome of producing holistically developed students who are equipped with 21st century skills. More particularly, the author developed this book to promote entrepreneurship and stir up the entrepreneurial spirit.

Following the curriculum of the DepEd, Entrepreneurship comes in two parts covered across 13 chapters. Part 1: The Development of the Business Plan (Chapters 1 to 8) focuses on entrepreneurship, enterprise planning, opportunity seeking, screening, seizing, market research, market planning, and product development. These topics comprise the fundamentals of the business plan as the would-be entrepreneur embarks on his or her journey in building, developing, and growing a business. Part 2: The Business Plan Implementation (Chapters 9 to 13) tackles the challenging process of establishing the enterprise, investing in and financing the enterprise, operating the enterprise, and organizing the enterprise to become a viable and sustainable business entity.

This book is a simplified version of the author's A Trilogy on Entrepreneurship published in 2008. It is divided into three books with the subtitles: Preparing for Entrepreneurship (Book 1), Creating the Enterprise (Book 2), and Growing the Enterprise (Book 3). It encapsulates the author's more than 30 years of experience in establishing enterprises, teaching students, counseling entrepreneurs, consulting for executives, and researching on various topics related to entrepreneurship. In line with the K to 12 program, the author intends to contribute to the fulfillment of one of its goals of promoting entrepreneurship as a "career" option among the senior high school students. This defies the traditional mindset of "getting ready for employment" (after graduation) and challenges the students, educators, and parents alike to be witnesses as entrepreneurship becomes the catalyst for nation building." --Preface
