The rapid expansion of the Business Process Outsourcing [BPO] industry in the Philippines has led to health challenges for BPO workers, who resort to smoking due to the sedentary nature of their work and industry-related stressors. Smoking poses significant physical and mental health risks, impacting productivity. Despite global efforts, research on smoking among BPO employees is lacking, leaving workers vulnerable to early initiation, dependence, and peer pressure. Addressing the motivational factors behind smoking within BPO industry demands a thorough approach, considering individual motivations, workplace culture, and environmental factors. By investigating these challenges and implementing tailored interventions, we can create a healthier and more productive work environment for Cebu City's BPO workforce. |
