"Employee retention in the BPO company is the practice of keeping employees long-term to minimize turnover. It is crucial for ensuring consistent service quality, reducing hiring and training costs, and maintaining productivity, as frequent turnover can disrupt operations and customer satisfaction. Anchored mainly on the Two-Factor Theory of Motivation and supported by Equity Theory, this study determined the factors influencing BPO employees to work and stay in the Business Process Outsourcing company in Cebu City, aiming to serve as the basis in formulating an employee retention model.
The research design utilized in this study is a descriptive correlational survey. As a way of gathering data, this study employs a researcher-made questionnaire seeking to answer queries about the profle of the BPO employees and the factors that influenced them in staying and working in the Business Process Outsourcing company. A face-to-face survey was conducted among the BPO employees in a selected BPO company in Cebu City. The BPO employees were chosen in a convenience sampling technique. The data were then treated using frequency count, simple percentage, weighted mean, and Chi-Square Test of Independence. The research followed the ethical principles of respect for beneficence, nonmaleficence, justice, and autonomy.
The findings show that majority of the BPO employees is under the age 24-27. Moreover, these employees are commonly males and are graduate with the Bachelor of Science in education and works in the company for almost 2-3 years. Furthermore, the compensation and benefits, working condition, and career development opportunities highly influenced BPO employees to work and stay in the company. This study concludes that there is significant relationship between the respondents' profile and the factors influencing their decision to work and stay in the business process outsourcing company [BPO]. The proposed employee retention model can help BPO companies develop strategies to enhance employee satisfaction, reduce turnover, and support career growth. By implementing this employee retention model, companies can take targeted actions to improve workforce stability, boost overall performance, and achieve long-term organizational goals. The researchers recommend adopting and implementing this plan by the BPO companies to thrive and complete in the competitive market." --Abstract |
