"The study explored the levels of Health-Related Quality of Life among medical students studying at the University of Cebu School of Medicine. The study also looked into assessing if there is a difference among the year levels in terms of their HR-QoL using ANOVA. Multiple Regression Analysis was used to identify the significant predictor of HR-QoL and the dominant factor that affected their HR-QoL for each year level. The study also looked into exploring possible confounding variables (gender, pre-medical undergraduate degree, and living situation) that may affect the student’s HR-QoL. The literature establishes that medical students have low HR-QoL due to the challenges that they experience in medical school. Furthermore, the supporting studies also substantiated that both the selected variables and the confounding variables can influence the medical students’ perceptions of their HR-QoL. The researchers utilized a quantitative approach with a prospective cross-sectional research design using a survey questionnaire composed of established and tested measurements to measure the dependent and independent variables. The study used stratified random sampling to gather data from second, third, and fourth year medical students from the University of Cebu-School of Medicine. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the researchers reduced their original sample size to 20 per year to maintain sampling integrity. The study’s findings supported the literature by indicating that UCSM medical students give their quality of life a low ranking yet the year levels don’t differ from one another. To achieve their objective of becoming doctors, medical students must push themselves to be resilient and sacrifice other elements of their lives, which has an impact on their HRQoL. The study’s findings indicate that the learning environment and sleep quality are important indicators of HRQoL.
