"The Health-Optimizing Physical Education (HOPE) series the senine high school utilizes experiential learning approaches, age appropriate concepts, and interesting activities to help students improve their fitness, health, and well-being as individuals and productive citizens of the society. It aims to educate students on fitness, sports, dance, and recreation for life whichk are essentials to optimum and lifelong health and wellness.<br/><br/>The HOPE series features the following components<br/><br/>WARM Ur includes initial exercises to get the students started and energized<br/><br/>STRETCH OUT discusses the main lessons.<br/><br/>Push reinforces the discussion of the lessons.<br/><br/>ACHIEVE comes with activities that students can engage in individually or in groups. These activities aim to stimulate their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains of learning<br/><br/>The textbook, HOPE 2 Sports for Life, emphasizes that sports and physical activities are good for the mind, body, and spirit. They promote and develop discipline, dedication, and leadership, among many other traits. HOPE 2 is divided into four units. These are as follow:<br/><br/>Unit 1 Basics of Sports discusses the health benefits of sports and physical activities, the common injuries in sports and physical activities along with their first-aid treatments, the ways to prevent injuries in sports and physical activities, and the common warm-up and cool-down exercises.<br/><br/>Unit 2 Individual, Dual, and Combative Sports explains the history of table tennis and arnis, the equipment and terminology used in table tennis, the common warm-up and cool-down exercises for table tennis, and the mechanics and rules and regulations in playing table tennis and arnis.<br/><br/>Unit 3 Net-barrier Sports focuses on the history of volleyball, the equipment and terminology used in volleyball and sepak takraw, the common warm-up and cool-down exercises for volleyball, and the mechanics and rules and regulations in playing volleyball and sepak takraw.<br/><br/>Unit 4<br/><br/>Organizing Sports Events identifies the types of sports events, the different players in sports events, the proper planning and management of sports events, and the advantages of single elimination tournaments." —Preface |
