"Facebook is a popular form of facilitating interaction that acts as a forum for exchanging of resources and political thoughts. The main purpose in this study is to investigate the behavioral intention of the third year Bachelor of Elementary Education students in using Facebook in University of Cebu Banmlad. The results of the study will be the basis for the proposal of educational Facebook group to enhance the positive behavioral intention of third year Bachelor of Elementary Education students.<br/><br/>This research employed a descriptive-correlational design utilizing a researcher-made questionnaire sample size of thirty (30) BEED students as participants and purposively selected to obtain relevant data. The procedure was conducted face-to-face at University of Cebu-Banilad to acquire detailed responses while strictly complying with health and safety protocols. The collected data were treated using frequency count and simple percentage, weighted mean and the Chi-square test of independence.<br/>The study on young adults aged 21-22, predominantly female, revealed that their primary Facebook uses are socializing and entertainment, with most spending over 5 hours daily on the platform. Their behavioral intention to use Facebook in the future is moderate ("Sometimes") across enjoyment, information, connection, and usefulness Notably, a significant relationship exists between the respondents' age and gender and their reported behavioral intention, suggesting that demographic factors influence their anticipated future engagement with the platform. This highlights Facebook's current importance in their lives while indicating a somewhat uncertain future reliance, warranting further investigation into the underlying reasons for this moderate intention and the specific influence of demographic factors." —Abstract |
