"Many of us know about the life of other people and understand why they are behaving that way. But only few of us really find time to know ourselves.<br/>We are sometimes alien to ourselves. We are struggling to know ourselves. We are even surprised at times the way we react to circumstances., In many of our unguarded moment, we are shocked or even scandalized to our very own reaction. Then we say, is that me? The most common reaction is to deny. To some, they simply laugh at themselves. For whatever reasons, we simply have a limited knowledge of our own self.<br/>There are people perceived to be tough and 'astig, however, deep inside they have a lot of insecurities, hang ups and frailty. These kinds of people are just deceiving others. Moreover, there are people perceived to be weak and 'shy type but when they are agitated, a roaring lion ready to devour comes out and we became really surprised.<br/>It is difficult to define yourself. Greek Philosopher, Socrates once said; know thyself. The hardest thing is to discover yourself. We simply live of what we are now today. We tend to act normally and keep the most secret of our self and play on what other people thought about us.<br/>We are not in the era of Philosophers anymore. We are in the era of digital technology and much more we are having difficulty to engage with ourselves. Technology has provided us no time to connect with our inner self. Technology has alienated ourselves very deeply that even in 3 minutes of our free time we choose to spend it in Tiktok, IG, Facebook, online game or video chatting.<br/>However, the problem lies in our inner quest to know ourselves not in technology and external factors. I just feel sorry for those who never had a chance to understand themselves because of fear, or for any reasons whatsoever.<br/>Unless we can align our inner self and public self together, we have a better understanding of our whole being. It takes time but it can't be impossible. Therefore, spend time to understand yourself and discover yourself for it is where you become powerful." —Preface |
