"Understanding oneself has been found to be crucial in many facets of life. It can be noted that many successful people in our history have gone through various life challenges before attaining success. The majority of them have benefited greatly from self-examination and understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, potentials, tendencies, and the various life factors that have contributed to their being and led them to their desired feat.<br/>To quote what Aristotle once said:<br/>"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom."<br/>Understanding oneself should not only mean knowing one's identify or being aware of who or what you are. This warrants a sort of appreciative inquiry concerning any questions about the 'self'. This includes discovering crucial knowledge about the different dimensions of the self, such as the biological, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Furthermore, understanding oneself entails appreciating the changes that occur throughout life, from the past to the present self, as well as imagining future and possible selves.<br/>This outcomes-based modular learning material intends to scaffold the learning of the self, particularly in its multiple dimensions and its emerging facets—the socio-digital self and the self amidst the New Normal." —Preface |
