Summary: Many private and academic institutions in the world have offered programs related to tourism. This study aims at identifying the factors that influence students to study Bachelor of Science in Tourism in a University.
This study utilized descriptive-correlational research design. The respondents were 80 tourism students selected through the use of random sampling. The researches used simple percentage formula, weighted mean and chi-square of interpretation of the statistical computation of data.
The findings showed that tourism students were between 15-19 years old, females, and with a monthly income Php 8000 or less . The result of the test of hypothesis showed that there was no significant relationship between the respondents profile and their responses to the factors influencing students to study Bachelor of Science in Tourism. It means that the University offers low-cost tuition fees compared to other Universities, plus high quality education and easy accessibility. Thus, University needs to maintain the quality of education to improve and fulfill the expectations of the students as an actualization of its vision and mission. |
