Summary, etc Summary: This study determined the competence of student nurses in intravenous fluid therapy. the research design is descriptive-correlational, utilizing a seventeen item four point Likert scale researcher-made questionnaire composed of two parts. The first part pertained to the respondents profile that includes age, gender, and number of patients per shift. the second part of the questionnaire consisted of seven (7) items measuring the skills and three (3) items measuring the attitude of the respondents. The findings of this study revealed that the majority of the respondents were in ages 17 to 22 years old, female, have two to three patients per shift and were competent. There was a significant relationships in the level three respondents gender and their competence. The researchers concluded that the level II and III students nurses were competent in intravenous fluid therapy while the level IV respondents were highly competent. Recommendations include seminar and trainings to enhance especially the students knowledge and skills aspects in intravenous fluid therapy and also to update students about the new trends and researchers about intravenous fluid therapy.
