Summary, etc Summary: Traffic is the movement of persons or vehicles from one place to another for the purpose of travel. Traffic rules and regulations were created to improve the safety and flow of traffic, reduce traffic emissions and utilize traffic artery capacity effectively. Hence, the need for an organized, carefully planned traffic system and management should be implemented productively so as not to create the delay of day to day transactions of street users. This study aimed to determine the adherence to traffic rules and regulation in Baniilad, Cebu City. A proposed action plan to improve traffic rules implementation is designed based on the findings of the study. A cross-sectional descriptive-correlational design was utilized. A total of eighty (80) respondents were considered through quota sampling technique. Of the total number of respondents, fifty(50) were pedestrian respondents and thirty (30) were driver respondents. This study was conducted at Banilad Cebu City. A researcher-made questionnaire was used in data gathering. Simple percent, weighted mean, chi-square, and Cramer's V were computed for treatment of data. Findings for pedestrian respondents revealed that majority were within age range of 16-20 years old. Male respondents constituted 72%. A total of 86% were single. 86% were married in civil status. As to their highest educational attainment, 46% were college level. On the other hand, findings for driver-respondents revealed that sixty percent were within the range of 19-38 years old, male in gender (90%); married in civil status (73.3%), had graduated high school (43.3%) and with professional drivers license (73.3%). Both pedestrian and driver respondents always adhered the traffic rules and regulations. There was no significant relationship detected between the profile of pedestrian and their level of adherence to traffic rules and regulations. Moreover, there was an association detected between the civil status of the drivers and their level of adherence to traffic rules and regulations.
