Summary, etc Summary: The purpose of the study was to appreciate and know the health beliefs and customs of a certain ethnic group and to determine how these health beliefs and customs make an impact on their quality of life.<br/>This study utilized the phenomenological qualitative research design and snowball sampling method. There were 8 informants that were interviewed with the use of a semi structured interview in Sitio Puntod, Alaska, Mambaling. The entire course of the interview was audio recorded with the permission from the informants. Then, the data and information obtained from the interviews were transcribed, translated and analyzed using with common themes. In terms of the informants view about their health practices and customs, data saturation arrived at the 5 participant and most answers given emphasized that though they were slowly adapting the proper way of treating illness through education.<br/>Major themes emerged describing the perception of the Badjaos not taking advantage of the health care given by medical professional and nurses included: healthy individuals health perception, causes of sickness and illness, practices handed by the ancestors.<br/>Participant revealed that health customs and practices of Badjaos were slowly fading or not being practiced especially by the new generation as they have already been educated in regards to the benefits of health care. Through education they can eventually learn in regards to the proper way of attending and how to treat illness. The researchers recommendation involved the minority groups especially the Badjaos in community health care with proper education dissemination and implementation of health teaching.
