520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc Summary: "We live in a sea of microbes" (Hales, 1994:440). Human body is productive with billions upon billions of living organisms, on our skin, in our mouth and in out intestines. It was discovered first some 300 years ago by Dutch scientists name Anton Van Leeuwenhoek. He developed a powerful microscope and was the first person ever to see the bacteria. Although millions of microorganisms are found in the body, most of them are harmless, in fact they contribute to man's survival. There are times though when the balance between these normally harmless organisms and the part of the body they inhibit become upset and causes unfavorable adaptation or maladaptation in that person (Kane, 1987:293).
