Summary: This study determines the level of communication skills of selected students of University of Cebu- Banilad school year 2011-2012 as bases for further improvement. This study was based on the statement of Infrosys (2008) that " Most students are not 'industry ready' because they lack communication skills". The researchers made this statement the root of the study to determine the verbal communication skills of the chosen respondents and their course. Moreover, the researchers used a descriptive comparative approach to determine the respondents' level of verbal communication skills and its difference to their courses respectively. In conclusion, the level of verbal communication skills of selected students of University of Cebu- Banilad have met the standards. Their level of verbal communication skills is not related to their courses. The researchers recommend that the level of verbal communication skills of the respondents must be maintained and improved by means of adopting the suggested recommendations. |
