Varicella is airborne and may not be isolated in an open area. Furthermore, Varicella can be fatal to children and could affect the community in many other aspects. Therefore, individuals must know how to protect themselves from harmful infections so as to stay in good health. According to the Department of Health, Chickenpox (Varicella) is the number nine cause of morbidity in the Philippines as of 2003 (DOH, http://www.doh.gov.ph, September 8, 2007). These data shows that such a few people may have been inflicted by the disease but these few cases might actually cause an epidemic on Varicella. Based on the records found in the Health Station of Barangay Lawaan II, there are only four cases of Chickenpox. Since records show little incidence of Varicella, this could either mean that the people are at higher risk of acquiring with a very weak correlation. There is no significant relationship in terms of age and gender, but had significant relationship in terms of educational attainment.
