They are working longer hours in more diversified workplaces. Age discrimination in the workplace involves employees being taken advantage of or treated unfairly based on their age. This can mainly occur in dishonest behaviors, biased decision-making, and negative evaluations in the circumstances such as personnel selection, recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and promotion decisions. The purpose of this study is to explore age discrimination in the workplace. This study utilized an explorative design type of research that focused on understanding an individual's perception of the informants' experiences. This study focused on seven informants, age 60 plus, who have experienced age discrimination in the workplace. The study examined human experiences through descriptions provided by the informants using content and thematic analysis, which extracted familiar themes through an analysis of the statements. The common themes emanated from the older adults' responses were: Psychological needs, self-training, Autonomy, showing encouragement in doing the task that given, and setting of priorities. Older adults still want to work beyond retirement age because that enjoy working, and they also must support their family, and they are still strong and capable enough to handle the work. The researchers recommended that the elderly be promoted when deserving and given appreciation. They have to be recognized and given more attention and importance.
