"This textbook aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the field of juvenile delinquency and juvenile justice for undergraduate students and reviewees preparing for board examinations. Further, this can also serve as a guide for practicing criminologists in the performance of their specific functions. It covers fundamental concepts, theories, and research findings essential for understanding the diverse subfields of juvenile delinquency and juvenile justice. The book is organized into four chapters following the Criminology Licensure Examination (CLE) Table of Specification (TOS), cach covering different topics in juvenile delinquency and juvenile justice. It is presented in a logical sequence, starting with juvenile delinquency and juvenile justice, followed by a discussion of terms to ponder, the rights of a child, and parental authority. Subsequent chapters cover topics such as preventing youth delinquency, juvenile justice models, and related laws on juvenile delinquency.

The text is written in a clear and concise style, making complex concepts accessible to students and reviewees with little or sufficient background in juvenile delinquency and juvenile justice. It is presented in an interrogative form, making it easy to recall the topics discussed. The book also includes chapter exercises in the form of multiple-choice questions as study aids. These tools are intended to help students reinforce their learning and prepare for their respective exams.

The chapter exercises are based on specific learning outcomes and on the current approach to formulating board exam questions by the Criminology Board of Examiners. However, these are only suggestive, and instructors and professors who use this book as a reference may follow, enhance, or create their own specific learning outcomes and chapter exercises and questions.

The chapter exercises intentionally do not have answers, enabling faculty members to use them in quizzes and students/reviewees to practice practice answering them on their own.
