It is noteworthy that the police service is a noble profession which demands from its members specialized knowledge and skills, as well as high standards of ethics and morality. As such, the members of the PNP must adhere to and internalize the enduring core values of love of God, respect for authority, selfless love and service for people. sanctity of marriage and family life, responsible dominion and stewardship over material things and truthfulness.

It is a fundamental principle that a government is conducting openly, efficiently, equitably and honorably that permits the citizenry to make judgment and hold government officials accountable, thus, a public servant is duty-bound to respect the principles of representative democracy, and as such, he must set a positive example of good citizenship by scrupulously observing the letter and spirit of laws and rules.

Further, public servants must treat their office as a public trust, using power and resources for public interest, not to attain personal benefit or private interest incompatible with the public good.

They should use independent objective judgment in performing their duties, and decide all matters based on the merits. Hence, this book is designed to guide Criminology students in their subject "Police Professional Conduct & Ethical Standards with Police Community Relations".

Furthermore, the authors of this book included here some exercises at the end of each chapter as guide in their review for Criminology Licensure Examinations.
