"Practical Research 2 for Senior High School aims to acquaint students with the concepts, principles, themes, methods, and rudiments of research. It guides students, through a step-by-step process, in writing the research proposal and conducting quantitative research. The textbook is divided into the four units:

Unit 1, Quantitative Research: Its Definition, Types, Purposes, and Goals, introduces students to the foundation of quantitative research, research variable and its classifications, and the preliminary parts of the quantitative research. This unit helps students in determining their research problem and background, composing the research title and Introduction, and defining the scope and delimitations of their research.

Unit 2, Review of Literature, discusses the review process, research citation and referencing standards, and research ethics; and instructs students in making the research framework, writing the review of related literature and studies, formulating the hypothesis and assumptions of the study, and defining the research methodology.

Unit 3. Collecting Data, guides students in the implementation of the statistical aspect of the research. It explains the methodology and design, sampling, data collection, instruments used, validity and reliability, statistical treatment, and the initial presentation of the data through tables and graphs.

Unit 4, Reporting and Sharing Findings, tackles the presentation, analysis, interpretation, and discussion of the collected data, and includes as well the writing of the summary of findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

This textbook also features a variety of sources, citing authors and works that represent the broad topics in the field of research, and uses materials aimed to enhance the research knowledge of students. In addition, the textual discussions employ activities and exercises designed to engage the students in an enjoyable but meaningful learning experience, and offer different learning styles and interests.

It is hoped that this textbook will stimulate students to embark on studies that not only apply the principles and methods of research properly and effectively but also focus on social problems and issues.
