There is evidence to show that the indigenous people in the U.S. indulged in many recreational activities. The saying "all work and no play makes Jim a dull bay" holds ground here. Recreation enhances longeuity and counteracts stress. It is reported that in the US., stress kills more and more people. So indulging in recreation can be a real help to live a healthier life. Physical Education 4: Recreational Activities and Jeam Sports presents the fundamental concepts of recreational activities, volleyball and basketball ta provide students wholesome experiences and improve one's skills through sports. The contents of the book deal with the theoretical and practical aspects of the course. It is divided into units of activities where active participation of the students is emphasized. It is the aim of this book to fill the needs of Physical Education teachers for instructional materials in recreational activities and team sports. All the works cited are listed and acknowledged in the bibliography. The author expresses her gratitude to the University of Cebu, Physical Education faculty for their help.
