"The application of specialized knowledge, skills, tools, and processes to create something of value for others is project management. Examples of projects include software development for a better business operation, the construction of the facility, the rescue effort following a natural disaster, and the development of sales into an expansion into a new market.
All through the history of humanity, project management has been practiced informally. However, in the middle of the 20th century, a community of forward-thinking professionals from the aviation, engineering, medicinal, and telecommunications sectors recognized that a changing world required new tools. Motivated to solve the resource and scheduling difficulties associated with more complex projects, they convened to begin codifying and standardizing the instruments for a new profession. The Project Management Institute (PMI) was founded in 1969.
The discussion of the books starts with the fundamentals of project management, followed by the central principles of project management. Also, the scope and success of the project management are described in detail in this book. The project management processes and phases are also explained in detail. The roles, responsibilities, and skills of the project manager, essential for the success of projects, are described in the book. Modern and conventional tools and techniques used in project management are discussed in detail. Lastly, the challenges and future of project management in businesses and organizations are explained in detail at the end of this book.
