"Educators in higher education are more immersed in instruction than research and extension. The purpose of research in higher education is to provide knowledge to students in forms of instruction, contribute to the body of knowledge through research and connect these findings and help the community and stakeholders through extension. With this, the authors wrote this book in order to guide educators and student researchers to properly align their research with the country's agenda and the international sustainable development goals. Also, the goal is to properly write a research proposal that is not only locally professional, but is also internationally ready for publication and presentation.
Research is more than just having an impact in the chosen field of the researcher, it must leverage the lives and practices of the community, help the underprivileged, and must serve the people. Creating the proposal is just the start of a research writing, but it is the most important part of the research paper as it lays the foundation and builds the rationale of why the study is being conducted. One of the highlights of this book is the theories and philosophical worldviews of research where students must understand that as early and junior researchers the importance of having a worldview or philosophy in research.
In this era of artificial intelligence, research writing or any form of writing is being challenged to identify which is human written and Al written, the question remains, would AI be permitted to write the research paper. As researchers and authors, the simple answer is No, Al should only assist and shall act as a tool for researchers, but should never replace the human minds that created them.
