Where are the Bachelor of Elementary Education graduates? / Rodello P. Lauron and Sheila Marie A. Falar.

This study anchored on Holland's Congruence Factor of Career Typology Theory which imprinted that the occupation of a person can be considered by the amount of individual traits it requires . The findings revealed that, majority of the respondents were single, female, under the age bracket of 20-24 years old, from Region VII, LET Passers, and most of them did not pursue graduate studies. The graduates' primordial reasons in taking BEED as their undergraduate course were due to their good grades in high school and high rate of prospect for immediate employment after graduation. A relatively huge portion of them were employed and very few were not. Of the unemployed, undecided to find a job, family and health-related concerns were the prominent reasons for their unemployment. As to the respondents' job level position, pluralities were on contractual status and hired as professionals in the field of education. With respect to monthly earnings, a bigger portion of the graduates' populace earned between 5,000 to less than Php 10,000/ month. Most of them found a job through recommendations and their length of stay on their first job was between 1 to 6 months. They accepted and stayed on their job due to the fact that the latter job necessitated their special skills and their current job was related to their undergraduate course. The main reason of changing their jobs was because of salary. It is concluded that majority of the graduates of Bachelor of Elementary Education were unemployed and most of them were in the field of Education. The main reason why they stayed on their respective jobs was their relationship to their special skill and course. Moreover, it considered the importance to the degree of fit between the persons' profile and the profile of an occupation. It is suggested that the university must never cease in training, retraining, and upgrading teachers' personal and professional advancement by strengthening its faculty development program, periodically assess the Bachelor of Elementary Education students' skills manifest essential graduates attributes necessary for employment, fortify job fair and placement program, maintain a strong culture of tracer studies.
