Tracing the graduates of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology: of University of Cebu- Banilad, 2009-2013 / Marijoy Yaun and Clyde Harold M. Paronda.

This utilized descriptive design using purposive random sampling and with the use of a standardized tool by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). There were a total of 87 respondents to this study and answered it online in the website of the college of computer studies which is www.ccs-banilad.uc.edu.ph. Majority of the respondents were male;single and were from the region 7, most of them were regular or permanent on their current job, they were locally employed and mostly professionals in their present occupation, they found their first job through the response to an advertisement and they utilized the information technology skills in their current job and their job is related to their degree. The researchers therefore concluded that majority of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology graduates of the University of Cebu- Banilad were employed permanently utilizing the information technology skills this means that what they have learned in college was utilized. However, for those underemployed they were freelance IT professionals and for the unemployed they did not look for a job. The researchers recommend that the department head should review and upgrade curriculum that would meet the current needs of the industry, more linkages with possible employers to ensure employability of the gradutes, and a students performance appraisal be conducted regularly by OJT coordinators, and this tracer study should be replicated to other programs in the University of Cebu- Banilad.
