Community extension projects and activities intensify the educational experience of the students through affording them with an inimitable chance to advance proficiency as an essential component in the course of teaching and learning. This work focused on assessing the community needs of the people in Barangay Apas, Cebu City, Philippines as bases in formulating the community extension projects and activities that the internal stakeholders of the University of Cebu-Banilad will undertake. Descriptive survey method was utilized with 381 randomly-selected informants. Slovin's formula was used in calculating the sample size with 1 informant per household. Statistical treatments used were simple percentage and ranking. The results showed the most of the informants stayed in the barangay for 8 years and their family structure were mostly normal. Further, the average household size was more than 5 members; most of the informants were children; single; their highest educational attainment was high school;mostly unemployed and their religion were Roman Catholic. According to the informants they needed to form cooperative. There were needs for maternal health and family planning in the community. In addition, the people also needed livelihood, employment and some entrepreneurial activities. Moreover, they needed to undertake environmental sanitation. The interviewees also informed that the children needed some books and teacher who will teach them reading, writing and mathematics. Lastly, the barangay "tanods" needed to be trained on defense tactics so that they can perform their duties effectively. It is concluded that the people in the Barangay Apas, Cebu City needed social, health, employment, entrepreneurial, environmental sanitation, education and security. These needs are considered vital so that the people will be able to have a healthy and well-balanced community life. therefore, it is important that the university needs to conduct community extension projects which are really responsive on what the people really needed.
