The study attempted to determine what vowel sounds the students are having difficulty in producing. This study utilized descriptive-research design to determine the difficulty of students in producing vowel sounds correctly and whether the type of school the students came from affects their production of vowel sounds.Researcher-made checklist and tape recordings were used by the researchers for data gathering. Statistical treatments used for data analysis were simple percentage and chi square test of independence. Based on the findings, majority of the respondents are female. In addition most respondents are from public school and most are currently taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education. The students have the difficulty in producing works with short vowel sounds [I] and [u] as well as schwa [A] and front vowel [ae] sounds.
