Computerized System - a collection of processes, procedures and controls designed to collect, record, classify and summarize data for purposes of interpretation and informed management decision-making. It provides major advantages such as speed and accuracy of operation. Each and every operation is made easier and secure unlike a manual process. When using a computerized system on the computer, input screens have been designed for ease of use. This system is automated and calculations are handled by software, eliminating possible errors and saving time. Furthermore, computerized systems are designed for accuracy to the smallest detail. Once the data is entered into the systems are designed for functions such as payroll and billing, it is performing quickly and efficiently by accounting software programs. In addition, computerized systems make it easier for different individuals to access data even outside the office. For instance, one can access records quickly without having to select through stacks of papers, another is the accuracy of calculations of a computerized system ensures reliability of financial statements prepared by the computer, and most important function is that the system stores data in off-site locations, ensuring safety from natural and man-made disasters such as fires.
