This study examined the impact of using English subtitled movie to first-year education students’ level of comprehension. Moreover, the study determined the significant difference between the respondents’ level of comprehension without subtitle or with subtitle movie. The findings of the study served as the bases for a proposed inter-active and innovative teaching-learning module. The data elicitation of the study utilized a quasi-experimental design. The respondents of the study were 67 first year education students. The researchers made a survey questionnaire that was used to identify the students’ profile followed by a 40-item researcher-made questionnaire about the movie “Akeeleah and the Bee”. Statistical treatments used for data analysis were simple percentage and T-test for two independents samples. The study revealed that English subtitled movie has an impact on students’ comprehension. Moreover, the comprehension level of the respondents changed from 26.66 % to 83.78 %. The results indicated that the use of English subtitles improved the comprehension level of the respondents. Furthermore, there was a significant difference between the respondents’ level of comprehension after watching a movie without subtitle and with English subtitle.
