With a null hypothesis of: There is no significant difference between the pain scales of post-caesarian patients before and after the application of classical music. This study will benefit the following: post-operative caesarian section patients that they will be able to realize that pain could also be relieved not only through pharmacologic approach but also through non-pharmacological method like listening to music. That they can control pain by diverting their attention rather that focusing on this sensation. By relieving pain sensation, these patients could better care for their newborns and could function effectively as mothers without pain bothering them.Staff nurses, that they will also teach their post-operative patients other methods of relieving pain sensation by allowing the patient to listen to classical music. That they will educate and strengthen health teachings to their patients on non-pharmacological pain management. Clinical instructors, that they will enforce on their students to implement non-pharmacological approach to pain management like music therapy. That they will encourage their students to include in the patient's care plan this diversional therapy. Nursing students, that they will reinforce non-pharmacologic pain management like music therapy. Since student nurses are knowledgeable on concepts of pain, they will be able to explain and provide knowledge to their patients on how diversional therapy can alter the Gate Control Theory, thus blocking pain sensation. Visayas Community Medical Center, that they will be able to encourage staff nurses to utilize non-pharmacologic pain management like music therapy. Future researchers, this could serve as a baseline data for other researchers who wish to improve the scope of the study. This study provides a valuable data on the effects of classical music.
