Specifically, the study aimed to determine the profile of the regular staff nurses in terms of age, gender, civil status, length of service, and educational attainment. The importance of continuing education for the respondents and the significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and the importance of continuing education were identified. The study utilized the descriptive-correlational research design. There were 56 regular staff nurses in Saint Vincent General Hospital. A researcher-made questionnaire was utilized using Simple Percentage, Weighted Mean, and the Chi-Square Test of Relationship. The findings revealed that majority of the respondents belonged to the ages 25-27 years old, females, single who had 19-26 months service in hospital, and were Bachelor's degree holder. Age and civil status as part of the profile of the respondents were significant in giving importance to continuing education. In general, the three basic needs of achievement, power and affiliation helped gave the staff nurses of Saint Vincent General Hospital to have continuing education as highly important. The action plan would be implemented through a seminar designed to provide nurses the idea of what benefits they will gain when they will pursue continuing education their perception towards the importance of continuing education among staff nurses.
