Summary: Summary: Health promotion and illness prevention are the two basic components of health maintenance thus, making it the main focus of health care. Through these two domains, the individual will be able to achieve optimum health and functioning. Illness frequently thwarts the attainment of high-level wellness, thus, a prevention model is being presented here. Maintaining an illness-free state through prevention directs an individual towards the promotion of health.
