By: Ferrater, Judy Ann OMaterial type: TextTextPublisher: Cebu City : University of Cebu, 2006Description: 125 leavesContent type: text Media type: unmediated Carrier type: volumeSummary: Summary: Management influences all phases of modern organizations. It is considered as an important tool in running an institution because without it, there will be smooth flow of the organization's processes. The underlying concept behind the success of any organization is the way it is being managed. Essentially, the role of management is to provide guidelines to companies toward goal accomplishment. All organizations exist for certain purposes or goals, and managers are responsible for combining or using organizational resources to ensure that their institutions achieve their purposes. Management moves an organization toward its purposes or goals by assigning activities that organization members perform. If the organizations are designed effectively, the production of each individual worker will contribute to the attainment of organizational goals. Management strives to encourage individual activity that will lead to reaching organizational goals and discourage individual activity that will hinder the accomplishment of those goals. There is no idea more important to managing than goals. Management has no meaning apart from its goals. Modern managers must realize that goal achievement in the organization is not their only primary task. They also need to be socially responsible to the interests of the various stakeholders in the company. Their managerial decisions should be congruent with ethical norms and customs prevalent within the organization's environment. They should also spearhead the need to build a foundation of trust and cooperation with employees through people empowerment, customers by rendering quality service and other members of society who are affected by the organization's activities. These are the business realities that managers must keep in mind all the time. It is within this context that the owners of N.A. Systems, Inc. should take the initiative to review its existing management practices to enhance the company's ability to react quickly to competitive and technological changes thereby ensuring its survival in a highly competitive environment. Hence, this study was conducted.
