The rising of COVID-19 cases primarily in the urban area is an increasing concern in this pandemic. Thus, it concerns researchers as student nurses. The findings of which served as the basis for an action plan. This research utilized a descriptive correlational design using a researcher-made questionnaire which consists of 24 items. The researcher-made questionnaire consists of two parts. The first part of the questionnaire consists of questions in which the respondents were asked to pertain to their profile. The second part of the questionnaire consists of questions that assess the hygiene and sanitation practices of the residents. Data collection was conducted in Sitio Univille mainly, residents from every household of Sitio Univille. There were approximately 160 respondents and were randomly selected. Simple percentage and weighted mean were utilized for the statistical treatment in this study. Findings show that majority of the respondents belonged to the age of 9-24 years old (48.1%), female (70%), residents without income during pandemic (59.4%), there were more college level or college graduate (53.8%), and roman catholic (87.8%). Hence, the respondent's hygiene and sanitation practices in terms of personal cleanliness, it is always done (factor average: 3.06). Basic sanitary practices (factor average 2.70), proper food handling and food safety (factor average: 2.94), and environmental sanitation (factor average 2.90) were moderately done. Consequently. there is a significant relationship between the respondent's profile in terms of age (personal cleanliness & basic sanitary practices), gender (basic sanitary practices), educational attainment (personal cleanliness & basic sanitary practices),and their hygiene practices. There is a significant relationship between the respondent's profile in terms of age and educational attainment and their hygiene and sanitation practices. On the other hand, there is no significant relationship between respondent's profile in terms of gender (personal cleanliness), socioeconomic status (personal cleanliness & basic sanitary practices), religion (personal cleanliness & basic sanitary practices), and their hygiene practices. Their is no significant relationship between respondent's profile in terms of age ( food handling and safety), gender (food handling and safety & environmental sanitation), socioeconomic status (food handling and safety & environmental sanitation) educational attainment ( food handling and safety), religion ( food handling and safety & environmental sanitation), and their sanitation practices. Lastly, there is no significant relationship between respondent's profile in terms of gender, socioeconomic status, religion, and their hygiene and sanitation practices. Based on the assessment towards Sitio Univille indicates a gap between the residents' hygiene and sanitation practices and barangay's awareness during the pandemic. Thus, the residents need further health teaching and promotion. The following recommendations are that proposed action plan be implemented, future researchers to pursue the following studies such as: Implementation of enhanced hygiene and sanitation; Respondents improvement in doing basic sanitary practices; Impact of sanitation practices and hygiene intervention in a sitio of Cebu City.
